Into the Wild Expedition

Long known for its impressive wildlife viewing driven by the largest migration of terrestrial mammals on earth, Kenya is also a world leader in conservancy conservation. Huge tracts of private ranch land have been returned to the original wildlife inhabitants with enormous success. Elephants roam unhindered; predators are no longer persecuted; herbivores have proliferated and the local Samburu people have become dedicated custodians.

This expedition aims to get into the midst of millions of herbivores as they traverse the rolling hills of the Masai Mara, performing that dance we call survival with the predators amongst them.

Flying into Kenya’s northern frontier takes the expedition to the foot of the impressive Mathews Ranges where old cattle paths are now trodden by elephant and buffalo. Here the Samburu people will proudly introduce the wilderness they call home. Tree-top ‘tents’ and exceptional hospitality are trumped only by the wide variety of activities available.

All this leads up to the best part of the expedition—a four day walking safari, supported by camels, on the Laikipia Plateau . A semi-arid environment that is host to a myriad of bird and wildlife including the ‘specials’ like Grevy’s Zebra and Reticulated Giraffe.
