Kalahari Jewel Expedition

Botswana's Okavango Delta, often called the 'Jewel of the Kalahari', is a vast oasis in an ancient thirstland, providing sustenance and sanctuary to a wildlife spectacle that both intrigues and thrills all who visit. As the 1000th World Heritage Site it is one of Africa’s greatest conservation successes. Vast and wild, the spreading waters of the planet’s largest inland delta creates a shifting maze of lily pad channels and palm-studded islands. This ephemeral landscape, always changing with the arrival and departure of fickle flows, is home to an astounding bounty of bird, plant and animal life.

The expedition will be led by Grant Nel, a specialist naturalist and professional guide who has lived and guided in Botswana since 1995. The camps selected are all on private conservancies, allowing for unfettered access and exploration of both land and water by open 4x4, motorboat, mekoro (dugout canoes) and on foot.
